Greetings everyone, I hope you all have had a great weekend, especially those who just finished their first week back at school, wherever that might be.
Some good shows happened this weekend, and I was on hand to photograph a couple of them. I want to share the links to the galleries from the performances of The Great Big No and Skullduggery.
The Great Big No (visit them at http://www.myspace.com/thegreatbigno) put on a great show at their CD Release concert on Friday, January 9th at The Mellow Mushroom in Tuscaloosa. Images from that show can be seen at: http://www.dsmithimages.com/g/gbn010909
Skullduggery, Tuscaloosa's favorite band of Irish rogues, (who can be visited at http://www.myspace.com/skullduggerytuscaloosa) put on a rousing show at Egans in Tuscaloosa on Saturday, January 10th. The gallery from that show can be seen at: http://www.dsmithimages.com/g/skullduggery011009
-With that in mind, if you are in a band or a musician looking for promo photos or shots taken during a live performance, let me know. I have a couple of different pricing breakdowns, but I will work with each band specifically to get what they need and what they want. Bands can also opt in and have a show covered as an event shoot, similar to a party or social function. The rest of my live music galleries can be seen at:
Even though school has started back, don't let that hamper your ability to throw a monster blowout to celebrate a whole litany of things. If you have a special event coming up, you shouldn't have to worry about missing all the fun stuff by being preoccupied with taking pictures because that's what I am here for.
Contact me if you need a photographer for a party, special event, special occasion, or anything along those lines. All images from the event would be put up on http://www.DSmithImages.com in either a public or private gallery so those who attended the event could order prints and images on their own time. If you are interested or have an event coming up in the next few weeks or months, email me at email@example.com so we can get the ball rolling. You will be able to choose from 3X5's, 4X6's, 5X7's, digital downloads, black and whites and/or colored prints, and really... anything you'd like to have included. The choices are all up to you so don't wait!
Please don't let travel and distance barriers prevent you from asking either. If it is within reason, I do not mind traveling to cover an event if my schedule allows it. I'll do any event - family, birthday, anniversary, college, house party, Greek, corporate, etc. Just let me know the details, and we will go from there. If you want to see some of my live event work, please visit the following link:
-If you are in the market for some personalized and on location portrait shots, let me know. I'm looking to expand my portfolio in that field, and I'd be happy to discuss details with anyone interested. The same as the event breakdown follows. Tell me what you want done, and we will go from there. If you want to see some of my portrait work, please visit the following link:
I also want to invite you all to the opening reception of the Arts Council of Tuscaloosa's Double Exposure Photography Contest will be happening on Sunday, January 25th at 2:00 P.M. in the Junior League Gallery on the 2nd floor of the Bama Theatre in Tuscaloosa. One of my photos, "Ruins", made the finalist list in the adult category (Along with 33 other photographers in the category) and will be on display as part of the exhibit. Winners are going to be announced on Friday the 22nd, and who knows, I might get lucky. If you can attend, I'd more than appreciate the support. If not, no worries... just wanted to spread the news regardless.
Again, thank you for all your help and support. It means a great deal! Hope to hear from some of you soon!
