Me one more time!

Alabama Coaching Search

After the initial day of "pipe-dream" candidates (Spurrier and Saban), the following coaches are starting to emerge as the prospects for the Alabama job:

-Rich Rodriguez, Head Coach at West Virginia
-Jim Grobe, Head Coach at Wake Forest
-Paul Johnson, Head Coach at Navy

Other names being floated are Bobby Petrino, Jeff Tedford at Cal, Frank Beamer at Virginia Tech, and Steve Kragthorpe at Tulsa. Most are wishful thinking or just instances of name dropping. Beamer's name comes up every time Alabama has an opening, and that stems from the fact he almost got the job in 1997.

If I had to guess, I'd say the selection process would go exactly how the first three coaches are listed. I'd put Paul Johnson ahead of Jim Grobe, though, but that's just me.
Over the Top

Funniest line I heard on the radio about the Alabama head coaching position:

Shula's been the coach for four years now. I don't know what to do because I'm used to running his offense on my Playsation 2!

freakin' hilarious!
